RENS BOOKCLUB OCTOBER READING LIST.

Hello good people,
Which books are you reading this month?
I believe you have heard of our bookclub: RENS, and if not please follow us on Twitter @rensbookclub and check out our blog for the written word.
These are the books the members are reading this month:

Drunk.
It starts with a girl. Girls actually. It's only fair it starts with a girl, no? Only problem is that most stories that start with a girl always end up with someone banging on the door saying, I just want to talk. This is not one of those stories. This one is about Larry. Mad Larry. He drinks. He shags girls. He hates his father.

  What I Know For Sure.
'I know for sure: Your journey begins with a choice to get up, step out, and live fully.'
 Opray Winfrey.

A Painted Inspiration From the Palm-Fringed Beaches.

It is a collection of inspiring and thought provoking quotes that have been compiled in a style that is simple and compelling.
The book takes you step by step to things that affect you and things that you can easily relate with from inspirational snippets and success to friendship, love, and life quotes that will leave you mentally full filled.
The book has painted inspiration in a unique and creative way to make you realise some of the things you were not doing in a proactive approach or even the mistakes that you have done and courage it takes takes to move past all that.

The Story of Che Guevara.
Che Gueva is something of a symbol in the west. But for the rest of the world he is different: a charismatic revolutionary who redrew the political map of Latin America and gave hope to those resisting colonialism everywhere. This is a biography told through the eyes of those to whom Che meant most.

Dance of Jacaranda.
Set in the shadow of Kenya's independence from Great Britain, Dance of the Jakaranda reimagines the special circumstances that brought black, brown and white men together to lay the railroad that heralded the birth of the nation.

Manuscript Found in Accra.
'An act of courage is always an act of love'.
“There is nothing wrong with anxiety. Although we cannot control God’s time, it is part of the human condition to want to receive the thing we are waiting for as quickly as possible. Or to drive away whatever is causing fear. Anxiety was born in the very same moment as mankind. And since we will never be able to master it, we will have to learn to live with it—just as we have learned to live with storms."
Season of Crimson Blossoms.
An illicit affair between 55-year old widow Binta Zubairu and 25-year old weed dealer and political thug Hassan 'Reza' was bound to provoke condemnation in conservative Northern Nigeria. Brought together in starling circumstances, Binta and Reza discover a need that only each can satisfy in the other. Binta, a grandmother of five, yearns for intimacy after the sexual repression of her marriage, the pain of losing her first son and privations of widowhood. Meanwhile, Reza seeks to lessen the pain of estrangement from his mother, and the increasingly remote link to his father, by seeking solace in an unconventional emotional and physical relationship.

Books are a uniquely portable magic.
Stephen King.
