ADELE DEJAK'S CAPSULE COLLECTION 'AMANDLA' LAUNCH
Last Saturday I attend the Adele Dejak’s capsule collection ‘Amandla’ launch at their flagship store at Village market. Being my first time at the shop, I took time to check out the luxurious accessories and I have to say, they are African, unique and artistic high fashion accessories. Being an African luxury brand, the event was attended by fashion lovers from models, bloggers to ordinary people who have a thing for our own style.
Adele Dejak, the designer cut her teeth in the
world of typographic design in England and Italy before moving back to Nairobi,
Kenya in 2005 and turning her attention to accessories design. Adele’s Nigerian
roots merged with her European influences and she set to
never-ending quest for that essential artefact that allows you to express your
own style.
Team Adele Dejak boasts a refreshing air of passion that shines through every hardworking team member, from the management and shop sales teams to every beader tailor and bone artisan. They have a workshop at Kiambu, Kenya

Amandla in Zulu means power, encourages us to embrace our inner powers, to be strong and radiate like stars. Be power. This is something so important in a continent that has suffered so much, yet always had the strength to rise above and shine.
Their London College of
Fashion intern Amanda Jeneby, in collaboration with Adele Dejak, designed the
collection. The collection, which has
been inspired by the geometrical patterns and shapes often used by the Maasai
tribe in Kenya, is an eye-catching collection so bold yet so simple.
