BONFIRE AT ROWALLAN.
Hello good people.
This past weekend I ticked off bonfire from my list of
things to do while young. I have never camped before, not even for a night, for
fear of being attacked by wild animals.. hahaha.
A group of friends from St Pauls university chapel and I had
been planning to go for an overnight bonding session. We have been friends and
classmates for four years, and now that we are almost graduating we decided to
come together and have fun at Rowallan camping site. This came as a great
opportunity for me try something new.
The Rowallan National Scouts is sited in Nairobi, near
Kibera, a 20 minutes’ drive from CBD. The beauty of the camp site is that it
has beautiful grounds, hike routes, bird watching experience, monkeys and
baboons on site and bonfire places.
The charges;
Camping fee Ksh 100 per person per night.
Tent Ksh 500 per night.
Picnic or hiking Ksh 100 per person per day.
The camp site has running water, good toilets and bathrooms,
fire places for cooking and jogging grounds. If you are looking for a place to
camp within Nairobi, this is the place.
Friday night was the best adventure experience I have had in
while. Talk of community cooking, eating and drinking, music and dance, games, bonfire,
love and laughter shared in a natural forest setting. It reminds you of your
childhood and helps forget all troubles of life.
Thumbs up to the guys who made my night.
