7 LESSONS FROM 3 YEARS OF BLOGGING.

Hello good people,
On this day, 3 years ago this baby was born. We have had fun, learnt and shared. Many thanks for walking with us every step of the way.
What lessons did we take home?

Just start.
I, Wacera, started the blog with zero experience in blogging, but with just a passion. The plan was to start a vlog as I always wanted to become a journalist since I was young. Journalism did not happen but I still wanted to share stories and because vlogging was impossible that time, the blog was born. Youtube channel is on the way.
Start and learn on the way.

A goal and plan are necessary.
What do you want to do and why?
What impact do you want to create?
Make a plan and set goals and work towards them. When you hit the goal, create higher ones.

If your dreams don't scare you, they are not big enough.
   Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

It is okay to take a break and rejuvenate.
We are always under pressure to deliver timely quality content but there comes a time when the brain takes a back seat and you can't force it to do anything. A break once in a while to rejuvenate our energies and renovate is always a good idea.

Sometimes you need to step outside, get some air, and remind yourself of who you are and who you want to be.

Share and learn.
Share the little that you have and learn as much as you can. We are always shy to raise our hand and ask a question because we don't want to look stupid. Ask the silly questions. Learn something new.
Sharpen your skills.
Getting a mentor would really help or putting yourself out there to learn and network.

The best part of learning is sharing what you know.
      Vaughn K. Lauer.

Failure is part of the process.
You will fall down, on your face. The most important thing is: not giving up and rising up. Rejections and dismissals are your daily bread but there comes days that you eat on the high table with a smile.

Let your failure be your motivation to success.
Winona Bhushan.

Be your #1 critic and cheerleader.
You will get positive and negative criticism, some which mean well and others ill. Be honest with yourself. Give yourself a treat when you make progress, because only you understands the late nights and early mornings struggles. Make mistakes, admit them, correct them and move on.

Enjoy the process.
Have some fun.

Life is short. Smile while you still have teeth.
